Just got mine today....Paid $27 including shipping. Barnes & Noble site had a link to used dealer.

Chapter 12 and 13 cover Robert Bosch Injecting products.

Quote " IN-Line Injection Timing.

Since the majority of diesel Kiki injection pumps are manufactired under technical License agreement with robert Bosch Company, the operation and therefore the maintenance of pumps produced by both companies is the same. The newer models of Bosch type pumps, such as the MW pump used on the mercedes Benz- 300D/SD engine, are discussed in chapter 13.

All bosch inline pumps poperate along the same lines; therefore, we shall limit this discussion to the basic adjustments required on the pump. End quote.

This book covers (with detailed diagrams) extensively the complete fuel system.

Chris
PS: Back to reading and hopefully learning some more about the powers of Diesel.

This book has probably sat dormant on shelves since 86 and now its gonna become a best seller!!!
Mine showed up in the mail yesterday. I am not going to have much time to look at it this week, but it will make for some good reading over the holiday break. You know, eat a bunch of Turkey Day food and hit the Lazy-Boy for a little diesel injection pump reading. Unforunately the combo of turkey and watching the Detroit Lions play ball will probably have me fast asleep before I get past the first page.

"Diesel Fuel Systems" Robert N. Brady

Just ordered my used copy on Amazon, $13 + $3.99 S&H.

Currently the Injection pump and the transmission are only parts of my car that I consider to be 'black boxes that I cannot comprehend'. Hopefully this will reduce it to just the transmission... very exciting!!!

Thumbs up Just Received "Diesel Fuel Systems"

Which I ordered just a few days ago. But still have no shipping confirmation on my third try at ordering the initial book. This has been a weird situation. All three orders were immediately charged to my Paypal, and I am still working on refunds from the first two. Seems like they'd verify what they had before charging you. Second thing is that even though my second order came back saying nothing in stock, the book is still listed on the website as available for over $160!!!

Methinks something smelleth like a rat ......

Well, at least I've got some light reading for my spare time now....

Just recieved both books about 5 min ago .

the Automotive and small truck fuel Injection Systems gas and Diesel, is used, and in really good shape.

the Diesel Fuel Systems, is a library book from "Robins AFB" in georgia, also lists "NAS Willow grove".

Pretty good, both books for around $15.00

Angry

Well, after 6 full days, my THIRD order was cancelled on me!!!!

Three accepted orders, charged three times, and no book.

To top it off, my current internet searches do not show any available that don't cost an arm an a leg...

What is wrong with these sellers? If they had just told me right away, I may have had a shot at one at a decent price....

Well, life in the fast lane, I guess...

Blah, sorry to hear the let downs. Don't worry, there will be more of these popping up sooner or later. Someone else said they checked one out of the library - not a bad idea, then you can have a look and wait for another one.

I received mine yesterday from an ebay seller, delivered for $9, thanks for the heads up.
So far it gives a good pictorial and description of an IP's operation.

Here is another book that is pretty good "Diesel Engines for Automobils, small trucks, and small tractors" By Tom Weathers, Jr. and Claud Hunter.

This can be the book of the month for December.

Thumbs up

The mailman just handed me my copy of the original book in this thread.

I'm looking forward to getting into it over the next few days off...

I'm not sure if I have enough time to jump into a book-of-the-month club!!!

Now when you get the second two you were charged for, you can list them here, and let the bidding begin..........

Just in time for thanksgiving, you can go hide in the corner and get away from the family.

Have a great Thanksgiving.

Charlie
