I dont want to say what is right or wrong, its just that I only use my car for commuting, so do 92 miles each day, and NO short trips. I reckon I should be fine changing at 14k miles in this situation.

I went 9k miles with a similar driving style and dirt cheap dino oil and had no problems. I'm now using a Shell synthetic oil, but its not Rotella, so I dont think its avilablen in the US. This oil here costs about $15 a quart/litre

There are about 5 walmarts in my area and only one of them carries it. I don't know what their criterion is, it's probably just up to some store manager. Hopefully they are selling enough to keep it in stock.

Hi Tom - Do you use one oil filter for your entire oil change interval? What make? Your 250D is turbocharged (like mine), correct? Even our expensive oil is cheap compared to your prices. What are you paying for diesel these days and what is the cetane level?
