How hard to replace warped vinyl window molding?

Almost all the 123's I've seen have suffered from this phenomena. The interior-colored moldings that go on the inside of the window frames become wavy and warped. Has anyone replaced these before? Is it necessary to remove the rubber door seals and the window channel? Thanks for any help.

Leave 'em alone. They're not worth the trouble. Really.

I stripped the complete exterior of the car and the interior of the doors for painting my W123 240D, and in retrospect I would have just left those trim pieces in place. To remove them you can just tug on them and pull them out, hopefully not breaking them in the process as they are glued in in the corners.

However, to put them back in you have to remove the weatherstripping (rubber door seals) and the rubber window channel, which entails removing the entire window. In the rear door you also must remove the smaller triangular fixed window.

Now, with that said, I managed to get mine back in without removing the windows, by carefully trimming off a section of the edge of the trim in question. It's not the perfect solution, but it worked and it looks the same. It was still an amazingly frustrating, multiple-hour job to get those trim pieces back in. I would not recommend it unless the rest of your interior is in absolutely perfect condition and those little ripples in the trim are the only thing preventing it from being showroom-new.

Any thoughts on if heating with a heat gun and pulling on them would help? Mine are getting pretty bad, its the only real visual issue with my car

JH, that is what I was thinking.
Maybe a good idea to get some samples from a junk yard and test heating with hair drier or heat gun until you get the correct time and method, assuming the stuff just does not shrink and deform under heat...then you have to mask the installed part and figure out the method of straightening when hot.

I've considered getting some sheet vinyl the correct color and installing that, but I have so many other niggly issues I doubt I will ever get to it.

You can just pull them out. That's what I did with my last 240D and I did that to the passenger door on my current one. I'll probably pull the rest out of the other door soon. I had no issues just pulling on them. Maybe because the AZ heat had fried whatever glue may once have been on them long ago.

I have not tried anything yet but mine are so shrunk the glue at both ends is long gone. Still considering a gloss faux wood wrap off e-bay for $8. You only wee it when door is open but it is usually the 1st thing people comment on after seeing how spotless the interior is.
