Turn Signal Doesn't Park
The turn signal for my '82 300SD does not park itself after the turn. I assume it is a problem with the switch, but wanted confirmation before getting another one as there wasn't anything obviously broken. Here's a picture of the switch in the right turn position:
I assume there should be a little finger part poking out that gets acted on by the plastic part on the steering column. Can someone please confirm? Also if anyone has a used switch in good working condition I'm interested. Andrew |

I haven't seen one out of the car, so can't comment on what it should look like. I would think another combination switch is the way to go.

If it won't cancel one direction, there is a tab broken off of the combination switch. If it won't cancel both directions, the problem is in the column. imho.

It can act up from not being setup properly; can happen after steering wheel/gear/alignment work.

Happened to mine. Eventually either direction would not cancel. Replaced switch/stalk - works great again.
