quite possible the coils are broken, then tend to break about 1/2 coil from the bottom.

So the transmission is not original, and therefore the clutch was new at some time in the middle of its life. Now the clutch has been replaced per the ebay ad, ... so one transmission, then a worn-out clutch on the 2nd transmission, ... either the 103,000miles is way off or it's been seriously abused.

For some reason with timing, the car was not allowed to be left in Portugal and had to be shipped back to the US.

So in the 6-1/2 years between the '93 and '99 inspections it lost 30,000miles instead of gaining the average which would be 15,000/year = 97,500miles. Adding the (missing/estimated/average) 97,500miles to the previous 98,258miles would be 195,758miles which is MUCH more believable based on the wear on the steering wheel.

Good stuff funola.

Maybe the odometer was replaced when it went overseas or when it came back to the states?

If whoever wins this auction finds out afterwards that there is a carfax reported inconsistant ODO reading and file a dispute with Ebay, I wonder how it will be handled?
