Exhaust muffler for 1992 300D. 5 cylinder turbo
Anybody in the Atlanta area or 100 mile radius has a decent exhaust muffler for an 1992 300D turbo 5 cylinder(602.962 engine,124.128 body) . I looked under and I have a hole the size of o baseball in the rear muffler. From what I saw it looks like the front muffler and rear muffler are all on one piece of pike.
Thank you |

If your muffler is that rusted I'd bet your entire exhaust isn't in much better shape.

The rear muffler is clamped on just before the subframe ($250). The front muffler then goes to the back of the transmission ($250). From there is the flex pipe that runs to the engine ($150).
That was a fun job except paying for the parts ![]()

The flex pipe is ok, look's like somebody changed it, but the front and rear muffler look old and I will have to sell the car in about 2 months and I don't want to put 500 $ in it, I already spent enough on it.
Maybe somebody has a decent one I can weld. Thanks |

found it
I finally got one, It is from a 400E. It is the same the only difference is that in the front muffler there are 2 pipes coming in on the gas engine and on the diesel is only one pipe coming in. A little (probably more) welding will fix that problem and finally no more exhaust in the car while sitting at the traffic light.
Thanks. |
