Follow up
I received the lights on Thursday and was very, very pleased. They came with vacuum motors, bulbs (city lights as well) and were in excellent overall condition. The seller even clipped off and included the needed 6-pin connectors for each assembly.
Here is the email address for the seller, Oliver Stork, in Germany: benz-man@t-online.de One interesting part that was included on the drivers side assembly towards the grille was a plastic shield that clipped into the two extended holes. On the other side of the SDL there is the intake scoop but I suspect there is a corresponding piece available. I wonder if these pieces are stock for the SDL and were simply lost over the previous history of my car. |

Glad
it all worked out for you.
I decided to wait for a while, like whenever I get a job. I'll just have to get by with my DOT setup for a while. |

For your car you can get euro lights that drop in place of the US spec sealed beams. You can get a cheepie set for like $40.

We put aftermarket units on our C230 and then added TRue HID bulbs/ballast's.
Now the Midnight Sun of Alaska LIGHTS UP well. It is kind of tricky with the adjustment on the less expensive aftermarket units, but at 200 a pair, they look good and with high output HID bulbs, they cant be beat in snow and most any condition, keeping in mind a low over all replacement cost as well. I am looking at doing the same with my 93 400, As soon as I decide which design I like the best. My research led me to be aware of original manufacturing location, how long the company has been in business, and if they are well established PRIOR to buying any set of lights. You may not be able to replace them otherwise. That's my input by experience,Good Luck on those! Christopher Anchorage, AK. |

Adding HID to a non-HID designed light is a really bad idea unless you really don't care about laws and the safety/glare towards other drivers.
