help Heater blower W126 300SD does not work

I hope somebody can help me as i am stuck at this moment

The fan of my heather does not work and there is no power to the climate control unit

The fuse ( nr 11 ) is ok and i can not find any external strip fuse ( I read somewhere that the early W126 300 SD did not had the external strip fuse yet and as mine is a '81 that can be correct as there is nothing to find next to the powerbrake or on the left wheelwell

Fan is working properly if i put direct current on it so that is not the problem
I have checked with an other 81 on how points the ecc unit get feed with current and it has 1 hot wire on each connector

Mine does not have any so there must be a current problem somewhere

please help as it is getting cold overhere

What year is your car? I believe the w126 did not have the servo.

It is possible that the pushbutton unit is no good. Do you have access to another CCU? Also disconnect the aux waterpump, and a bad one can take out a good CCU.

My car doesn't even have a heather in it. Fortunately, my heater works just fine . . . .

Just for grins take out that fuse and try a new one. Lot of times the fuse will be bad even though it looks good. Ask me how I know!

After replacing the fuse, Pull the passenger side kick panel. Put 12v to fan. If it works great. If not rebuild or replace the fan. Next, check the blower controller connector to make sure it has a solid connection. If it does, it could be the push button unit.
Good luck and good night.

x2. The brushes wear out and the fan will stop working. This was the problem one of my cars, but I wasted a bunch of time pulling the push button unit and soldering it.

Here is how to fix it for $10, new motors are $100+

His fan works when directly wired to 12 volts so his problem is elsewhere. Could be the push button unit. If you can get one from a junkyard, it's a pretty easy swap to test the hypothesis.

Check #10 and #11 fuses as both are required for climate control on the W126. #10 is for the Pushbutton controller and #11 for the Blower Motor Controller. The pushbutton controller turns the blower motor controller on.

Don't know how different my 83 w126 is from yours but...

I have similar power-to-fan problem and I've traced it past the fuses, back to the ignition switch. No power coming through switch to the CC fuses.

Oh and another thing i learned, if you run your blower straight off of the battery it will eventually burn out. Now I'm back to no defrost.

Please describe your testing procedure, in detail, to make the aforementioned conclusion.
