Grind to a hault RUMBLE

Need help troubleshooting this dilemma.
Car: "Crappy Gas Pipe" 1984 300D turbo GreaseCar. 230k
Symptoms: Originally had a loud rumble under car while coasting on highway.
After stopping and starting up again there was a vibration in the shifter (Floor Automatic) Grinding noise louder now. Shifter is shaking while in gear. drove 1/2 mile @ 1 mile per hour to get to somewhere I could ditch the car.

Things it cant be: Flex discs and center bearing replaced a year ago. Front brakes and wheel bearings are new. Motor mounts. Down pipe for exhaust.

Three Tranny shocks?: Only two, one on each side, the back/center one is missing. Must have been for years.

Is it comming form the center of the car or a corner?

I'd make sure you arent missing some flex disks bolts first then trans mount maybe.

Sounds like front right or center. Flex disc bolts are all on.

Brake pads, caliper, rotor; wheel bearings, tie rod ends and motor mounts (just cause its new doest mean it cant fail).

Steering wheel doesnt shake. Bushings? Would bushing make a loud noise going 3 miles per hour or stop when coasting in neutral at that speed?
Rear Axel? I'm leaning toward that why but dont know how to check it/myself(alone)

That rubber is a year old. Very unlikely that has failed. Car is still abandond and dont have any more sick days/Vacation days left. If its the tranny I could use a bareivment day, maybe.?

Are you referring to engine mounts and tranny mount? Sounds like a problem to me

Yes, Baja, tranny mounts - have two of three. Center one is missing.

I was under the car today and noticed fiber like material fanning out from behind front flex disc, looking forward. I guess thats whats making the noise. Maybe caused by the lack of an aft/center tranny shock absorber?

So even if I replace the flex disc the reason the problem might be happening is because the car I bought only has two transmission mounts, not three.(Back center is missing) Car always vibrates for a couple seconds while accelerating. Does that sound right?

You should have two engine mounts and two engine shocks (right next to the engine mounts), and one tranny mounts that is in the center, under the rear tail housing.

You are seeing flex disk failure. Stop driving the car until you replace the flex disk. You are lucky that the flex disk ig giving you a pre failure warning.

Balance or bust

Round or oval. Cant tell because I dont have one on the car. Can anyone help me choose wich part my fit may car? 1984 300D turbo. Atomatic.

I picked the round one and it is the same as the old one. At first I thought the whole part was missing but that's just because I looked in the wrong place.
The old flex disc was difficult to get out of position it was so badly damaged. I hope I get the orientation of the drive shaft right. My helper who was supposed to label the shaft didn't label the tranny side. What are the repercussions of an unbalance drive shaft, pray tell?
