how to test Aux Fan?

I have a spare AUX fan for my w123 i wanted to know if it still works. Is there a way to test it without putting it back into the car?
Thanks for replies

On the wires coming from teh fan.

Place on wire on + of a battery the other wire on the - of abattery

Fan will spin in one direction if OK.

Reverse wires from fan onto battery

Fan will spin in opposite direction

Should not make any bearing grinding noise
