i have a 1982 mercedes 300td and the driverside taillights don't work, i've checked the bulbs and figured it must be the whole harness thats not working. I went to arizona auto haus which is where i always buy parts and noticed that they only sell the whole assembly, lenses and all, i just need the box piece that the bulbs set into. i have a few sedan parts cars, i know the sedans taillights are horizontal and the wagons are vertical, but does anyone know if the harness piece might be compatible, or if you can buy just that piece anywhere?? i dont want to drop a few hundred to replace the whole shebang, but i also don't want to get pulled over anymore for not having a taillight. help!

A pick'n'pull, would be cheapest, yet there are few td's, good luck.
