How do you know the level the PS fluid should be at? I don't have a manual and don't see a distinct mark (my steering is also making funny noises).

Tie rod replacement is very easy especially when u r replacing the assembly. Tricky part is trying to mirror the new tie rods with the old ones as far as measurement from center to center of each end. That way, the car is not totally off alignment after. Of course, an alignment will be necessary after the job is done.

It's been a little while since I had my cap open, but I seem to remember that there was a little lip just below the rim of the reservoir. It's fairly full when it's at the appropriate level, though.
