Quickie on temp sensor OM617

There's two temperature sensors on the OM617 block, drivers side. One for the in-dash gauge and one for the preglow relay.

I want to replace one of these with a generic aftermarket sensor, so I need to know the correct thread size for the part.
Available at the store are M14, M16 and M18 sized.
Which goes into the OM617?

Thanks a lot!

M14 but I don't remember the pitch for sure. 1.50mm most likely.

Thanks, I bought an aftermarket temperature gauge and decided to test if it would give accurate readings with the sensors already installed on my engine - and it did!
Also bought three adapters for different threads but will be returning them now

The sun shines, engine runs like a charm, shure makes me happy!

Best to pull out the sensor and match it up. On my 617 motor it needed a 19 mm wrench to remove. Not sure the size and pitch but it was a fine thread. Before I pulled mine I made a tapered rubber plug so i only lost a half cup or so of coolant.
