OM603 Massive Oil Leak At Tensioner
I had an oil leak at the chain tensioner and noted there was not a sealing crush washer installed when the timing chain and tensioner were replaced at an MB dealership's service garage.
To make matters worse, apparently they also noticed the leaking and gummed up the tensioner and/or head threads with RED LOCTITE. I purchased the correct tensioner and seal washer (thanks, Phil). Ended up having to clean up the threads with the correct size/pitch tap. The "repair" from the dealer lasted several years, but when it did start leaking, it progressed quickly. Problem now is that the leak around the old tensioner is now much worse around the new assembly. I'm open to about any suggestion at this point. Thanks!

I bought a new tensioner for a 617 that immediately was leaking like a SOB all over the place, then on inspection I discovered why, it had a crack in the metal body and was faulty from the manufacturer.
I've seen a 603 tensioner leak because it wasn't torqued down real tight against the crush washer. Look for the source of the oil and see where its coming from. Its possible there is a crack in the tensioner or the washer isn't seated well.
