W123 OM617 accel linkage issue
The accelerator pedal in my car goes halfway to the floor before the engine begins to increase speed. I figured I had linkage slop, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Even slightly nudging the pedal results in prompt movement of the linkage to the IP, and with I have verified that full travel of the pedal results in full travel of the rod attached to the IP. Where then, is the issue? It seems there is a huge dead spot in the pedal, but no slop in the linkages under the hood.

Try checking the length of all the linkages. I believe the shop manuals have all the info you'll need for that.

Look at the rod that runs "front to back" kinda from the firewall to what looks like a forked end at the front there is a bolt you can adjust the amount of movement in the pedal with. The rod has a slight 1/2 inch slot in it for adjustment, a little goes a long way!

I will check in to it further on Tuesday. I won't be near the car until then. Thank you for the suggestions. Keep 'em coming.
