Vent Visor for W123

Does anybody make a side window vent visor that will fit the W123?

Just found this:

http://www.***********************/performance/brand.php?makeid=39&modelid=459&year=1980&partid=170

This style is very nice. I have them on my Jetta, and bought them for my old W201 and my dad's C230. They fit perfectly every time.

Awww, you don't want those! My old VW Dasher wagon had them -- tacky! And they rusted out on the underside...

The Weathertech's are really nice. They have always fit perfectly when I have installed them and shield from water on the top AND front edge of the driver's and passenger's front windows. Much more practical than the old chrome "top-only" visors. Just my $.02 though!

BTW, I ordered a pair and will report back after they arrive. I'll also keep an eye out for the old chrome ones and resurrect this thread should I see any.

FWIW, I received my WeatherTech vent visors yesterday and they fit very well on my 300D.

Once installed, does the car look decent or tacky? If possible, could you post a picture?

Sure I can post a pic -- might be a bit before I can get to it, but I'll do so. They look fine; very unobtrusive, as they don't seem to stick out as far as the ones on my Jetta do. I love these things in the summertime. You can leave your windows cracked quite a bit w/o fear of rain getting in.

True, they may look tacky, and rust, but they are period correct. I could use something like that now, it's raining, and I'm stuck outside in the car.

Heck, these cars don't need the windows open to get water on the inside.....

Were they for all 4 doors or just the fronts? Did they slip in the channel ot were they double sticky taped on?

Just the front two (which is all I was after, anyway). They slide in -- as far as I know all the German-made WeatherTechs do. I would NOT mess with the stick-on variety.

Sorry for the lack of a pic so far; I was helping a visiting relative try to get his '87 Holiday Rambler started. Finally did, but not 'til after 10pm!

Reviving an old thread.

I got myself a set of NOS 4 vent visors. I have not had the chance to snap photos of each nor install them. That's the good part.... the bad is that the shade of the 2 fronts are different to that of the rear.

The fronts are like that of cscmc1 while the rear are brownish.... Now I'm unsure if I'd just install the fronts (which are the most used) or install all 4 despite the difference in shade...

FWIW, I had a stick-on set on my w116 and had no problems for years. They go on with professional trim two-sided tape, the same as used for body trim items and it's very sound.
