123 Climate Control Vacuum UGH!
My 1984 300d has had a number of vacuum problems so far, and right now, I have a pod failed in the climate control system.
First, the failed pod is the legroom pod. I have the top off but with both kick panels out, I can't get it disconnected from the assembly that it uses to open the vents. There appears to be a white plastic pin that connects them. Anyone gotten it off? I can't seem to, but I only went at it for about 10 minutes. Guess I'm a noob there. Also, should I be getting a vacuum leak from this with the climate control off? Mine has been off for quite some time (broke the temperature sensor in the center of the dash) and I still get a leak. Shouldn't all the connections be closed when it's turned off? |

Well, I managed to disconnect the pod, and the diaphragm is producing a slow leak in the spare pod I put it in. That's taken care of.
My question about the climate control being off still remains. Should I be able to get a vacuum leak with the climate control turned off? Shouldn't the climate control system be blocked off from the main line when it's off? |
