1981 240d cruise control conversion

to put it bluntly im very pissed off at my 81's cruise control. im tired of having to dick around with this control box so i was wondering if i could retrofit the later model of cruise control without the vaccume.

Keep the faith dude! I have two amps sitting on a table at home and I've not yet bothered to even attempt to re-solder them and see if I have any luck. From what I've read you can't actually retrofit the later electric cruise to the earlier cars. I'd be interested in knowing if that's really true or not.

According to my old mechanic, the 1985 model is a workable replacement, prior years all have the same issues. I have not pursued it but plan to this summer.
