Which engine in '06 I-6 CDI?

OM??? Anyone know?

Is it an OM606 with a different head or perhaps just different fuel injection?

That's the 3.0L V6

The I-6 3.2L is an OM613.961.

Right. It IS an OM648.

The earlier CDI engines were based off of the old 603/606 block, from what I remember, with DI pistons and heads with common rails. They were deemed the OM613's. The OM612, the five cylinder version, is what is running in current Sprinter CDI's.

Those six-cylinder CDI engines never made it to our shores. They were the first generation of CDI's.

The OM648 is the engine found in the 2005 - 2006 E320 CDI. The OM642 is the 3.0 liter V6.

US-spec Sprinters came with both the OM612 and OM647. 2001-2003 models (sold as Freightliner Sprinters) had the OM612, and 2004-2005 (Dodge) had the OM647.

Sprinter motor into a W126?

Would an engine from a wrecked Sprinter fit into a W126?

Just thinking of my options if my 603.970 ('91 350SD) poops out.

even if you could get one for a decent price, good luck with all the electronics. trying to get one of those running in a w126 seems like trying to install autopilot in Noah's Ark.
