Are we talking after dismantling the motor housing or undismantled... if undismantled, why not just dunk in overnight.... does the oil then need to be cleaned out once its working?

i beleive you may need to loosen the end cap screws to get the oil in.and yes drain it.this method works ive used it several times .im glad you love to tinker

Just do not use a piece of copper pipe. That will be adding a diferent metal to the cooling system. Stay with steel or aluminum, like the rest of the cooling system.

Why not copper? Is there no copper in the radiator?

Your concern is dielectric property of the metals.... but aren't they already isolated/insulated by the separation of the rubber hoses.... so in this case, copper should work?

I can see the problem if the Cu is in direct contact with Al or the Fe. Thoughts??

Theoretically, yes the metals are separated by rubber hoses, but the liquid inside them is what connects them. Over time you will get a low voltage battery, resulting in metal compounds being etched away from one, and deposited on another. Those deposits are called rust and scale.
