Getting replacement gas pedal -- what works better?

I broke the plastic thingy that connects my gas pedal to the rod yesterday. Currently I'm driving it by the metal rod, which is kinda hard to keep the foot on. What do you guys think would look better? Pulling a stock plastic one from the junk yard, or pulling some shiny metal ones?
