123 Sunroof Bushings?
Hi guys,
After getting AC fixed, I dont use the sunroof that much, but I wanted to see if anybody knows, are there rollers of sorts that wear out in the sunroof? Mine is 'loose' and makes a terrible rattling noise unless its open all the way, and, when you close it, you have to use your finger and hold the deflector down since whatever usually pushes that down is missing or worn out. Anyone have experience with this?

I'm having an experience similar to yours, without the rattling. I've almost lost a finger a few times trying to hold down the deflector while closing the sunroof.
I'd love some insight..... Bob '82 300D |

1) You can remove the air deflector easily if it stops coming down. common prob.
2) There are front and rear rubber sliders on the sunroof that fit in the rails . they wear out and can be ordered at MB dealer parts . I suggest removing a sample of each front and rear and show the parts guy what you need, since he won't know 'cause your car is older than he is.....
