Thumbs up Bendix calipers use anti rattle clips?

Just what's the deal with them or do the ATEs just have the anti rattle clips?

I have looked at a few places that stock parts, here too, and they say only for the ATE calipers.

I just stuffed some new pads into my bendix calipers, and there are two springs that are held in place by a pin. I would suppose that would qualify them as a "anti-rattle clip".

What's there, that is going to "rattle" anyway?

Only rattle I hear, is from some loose exhaust shield

Well that spring setup is MIA on my SD. I need new calipers anyway.

My inner pad is loose and squeals at times. It's strange and sounds lame.

The Bendix calipers usually have springs that are made from wire, where the ATE calipers I have seen always had bow springs made from narrow pieces of sheet steel. The ATE calipers are generally considered to be equivalent replacements, if done in right and left pairs. The pads do actually tend to vibrate in service application and are part of the cause of squealing if anti-squeal paste is not used.

Hrm, I'll probably swap to ATEs then when the time comes.

Tell me about how this paste works...

when I RB my Calipers, I used new pins, and springs

I also slathered the red brake goo on the back side of the pads to hold them securely to the pistons. it is like a mixture of silicone sealant and superglue.

Is it possible to install anti rattle clips for ATE calipers into Bendix ones? I know the Bendix ones have the wires and the ATEs have the flat metal springs.

The both use anti-rattle springs but they are different types.
