vibration 300td

my 300td when sitting in park is smooth put it into drive and it vibrates
you don't feel it in the gear shifter but you feel it in the steering wheel
is it motor mounts or the small shocks that are attached to the engine

When in idle, in gear and with foot on brake add a little throttle...would this smooth things out? In gear idle speed vs in park idle speed should show a tad difference on the tachometer so maybe a slight raise in RPM would even things out? Mine rocks at idle, more and less, depending on which way the sun is shining what day of the week it is.

I would check the rack damper and the engine shock. And, of course, motor mounts first.
