Reusable stainless steel mesh secondary filter...
Check out this very interesting alternative to our throw-away secondary filters.....it uses surgical grade stainless steel 10micron mesh as the filter medium...are the stock secondary's 10micron? This could be a very cool item for veg-fuel burning folk.... Just wondering about it....it looked interesting.

I wouldn't mind having one of those. I could do away with the filter from my kit that I'm not all that impressed with anyway and use a stock setup with the spare filter-holder-thing from my parts car. It'd be a lot less hassle and cheaper than those $15 a pop big filters, if it works as they claim, that is.

The biggest draw for me would be the ability to attach its "upper piece" to the filter housing, get it to not leak, then never have to worry about removing that part of it again.....I also want to run a WVO or (clean new oil) + RUG mix this summer possibly....and having a cleanable filter like that would be pretty neat to have.

What are the stock filters Micron rating?
I probably spent that on $10 Mann filters fighting the SD's never ending algea problem. In hindsight one of those would have been a good buy probably.

I know the fuel filter rating on my truck is 10 and I think I've read somewhere about 10 micron. I as well think it is a good idea. All depends on how your hook up your veggie system on how it is used. Or if you are going to keep your car a long while (which most of us plan too) I wonder if after repeated cleaning it could break some of the wires.
I have a similar thing for 75 micron for my pickup on my pump of which I collect veggie. It works well but is kinda hard to clean. I think if it was dishwasher safe it would be better. I can imagine if a 75 micron is hard to clean a 10 micron might be even harder to clean. I've seen this on here before and have seriously considered it. Just I'm always leary of e-bay and for that much money I could buy 20 fuel filters.

The cost of that filter would buy 12 normal filters.

His sales pitch is a bit misleading, though.
I've never had a paper filter "SWELL AND CLOG ON CONTACT WITH WASTE VEGETABLE OIL (WVO), ROBBING YOUR DIESEL ENGINE OF POWER". Scare tactics from a fear monger. But of course, that doesn't mean it isn't a good product. |

I saw this same product earlier while searching for a good cleanable filter... If I would have the cash, I would get one... Maybe someday.

hold on folks.....
why would you have a 10 micron filter on the car? i filter my wvo to 5 microns with a home water filter in the garage. 10 mics would be no gouda. maybe use the 10 in line before the 5.
i have tried filter socks that go to 1 but the 'queen of bleach' won't let them into her washing machine for cleaning now that they are clogged.
