wheel alignment procedure for you

TIRE INFLATION(COLD)

Befor attempting to check or adjust wheel alignment, make sure the tires are properly inflated.

CASTER

1. test under loaded condition. Load vehicle with 2 weights of 143lbs. on rear seat and a full tank of fuel. if caster is not to specs. , lossen lock nut on eccentric bolt on front side of lover control arm.
2. to adjust , rotate eccentric bolt until caster angle is within specs. hold eccentric bolt in place and tighten lock nut.

CAMBER

1. test under loaded condition. Load vehicle with 2 weights of 143lbs. on rear seat and a full tank of fuel. if camber is not to specs. , lossen lock nut of eccentric bolt on rear side of lower control arm.

2. to adjust, rotate eccentric bolt until camber is within specs.. hold eccentric bolt in place and tighten lock nut.

TOE-IN

1. place wheels in strait ahead position. if toe is not within spects, adjust by loosening jam nuts on outer tie rods.
2. rotate tie rods to obtain specifed toe in. make sure tie rods are adjusted equally. tighten jam nuts on tie rods and check wheel alignment.

WHEEL ALIGNMENT

WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECS.

240D
CASTER (DEGREES +8 3/4 +/1/2
CAMBER(DEGREES) 0+/-1/6
TOE IN (INCHES)+1/8+/-3/64


300 AND 380 SERIES
CASTER(DEGREES)+93/4+/-1/2
CAMBER(DEGREES)0+/-1/6
TOE IN (INCHES)+3/16+/-3/64

i didnt see anything about a spreader bar though. but atleast it mentions using weight as part of the process

And lock the steering wheel in the center position. There's a special tool (bolt) to do that.
