Here's to AMG (nee Ronal) Pentas

I have the copy of the AMG penta, the Ronal Penta. 16"x8" with 225/50VR16 Tires. It is amazing how much better the car corners with these big tires. My wheels have an offset of 11, which I think is too little because they stick out of the front fender wells a little bit, but have NEVER scraped the fender or the fender well.

Bolt patterns are the same but offsets are different.

I think Bundts look exceedingly good when in immaculate condition, and when chromed and kept nice. But once they are neglected they turn into wheels that look like they are missing their wheel covers.... Bundts are very handsome, and i'd kill for a set of 15" ones.

However, I have off and on again throught about upgrading my wheels, I just had my bundts re-finished, yet I am tempted to get another set of wheels to alternate between. I really like the way 16" 8-holes look on w123's, but my poison is the BBS RC. 16".

If anyone knows a way to fit these on a w123 speak up! Too bad BBS doesnt offer them in an apropreate offset!

I just purchased the ASA korean made eight hole 16 inch wheels from Tirerack. I also got the H-rated Continental ContiPremierContact in a 225-60. I asked Justin about the Italian and Korean wheels. He told me to go with the ASA without a doubt. He said it is much better construction-hands down; gravity casting vs. pressure casting, so the ASA's are lighter and stronger. He also said that the finish and edging looks exactly like oem where as the Italian wheel does not. Also, the Italian wheel has been discontinued. Just to let you guys know not to get the Italian made 16 inch 8-holes.

They are pretty solid wheels...I wouldn't badmouth the Italian made ones...

Your right...the finish on these isn't like OEM...they are clearcoated and waxable...

To each his own

I keep coming back to this thread because I hope that someone will post "Found affordable 15" bundts!" but nobody has yet. If anyone does, can you please start a new thread? I have been looking, but found nothing so far.

People get a little nuts these are not race cars a couple extra pounds of unsprung weight means nothing. If the ASA's are within a few bucks of the Italian wheels I'd go for the Korean ones. However they are not going to be as good as OE MB 8 holes anyway.

I have been running the Italian wheels for a long time and they are fine, now granted the fit and finish isn't as good as the AMG wheels. But the AMG wheels cost $500 each vs $150 for mine; you get what you pay for I'm happy.
