difficult starting 71 220d
Hello!
Any advice for my 220d? FIrst time in the morning it will start pretty easily, but only run for a few seconds, then the rpms go down. If left alone, it dies. If you give it any fuel, it seems to flood and die - then you are dead meat. No chance of starting for some time. It has the older glow plugs. SHould I change these out? ANd how difficult is that? Thanks |

No, I think it sounds more fuel or injection pump related as long as it starts pretty easily. I would start off by changing the fuel filters. And check the air filter too.

220d starting
I assume you are setting your dash control to "high idle" before starting. It's easy to forget, but if it's not set and starts it will likely die.
