I am planning on "rolling in" a new timing chain (for insurance). Should the oil pump chain be replaced outside of an engine rebuild? Can this be done without taking the engine out? Has anyone ever seen the oil pump chain break?

According to the Hayes Manual
It does not say you can replace the oil pump chain with the engine in the car. The illustration shows it being removed with engine out..Maybe Larry B. can provide some input
