curious about these parts

i'm burning veggie with my frybrid kit. i've got slooow warm up times (around 7 miles on a 25 degree day) and it's been suggested that i look at my auxiliary water pump to make sure it's working.

i've had a buzzing noise behind my passenger air bag that stops when i take out fuse 7 which, as i remember this sordid tale, has the auxiliary water pump relay. in my hopes to stop the buzzing and fix my slow heat i took out the battery and poked around behind.

it did not appear that the buzzing was coming from any of the parts back there, but i did wonder what they were.

i STILL do not know where my auxiliary water pump is. yes, i do know what it looks like. yes, i do know it's in the coolant line. yes, i've searched here and in pdf files. no, i have not found it. i'm a bit flummoxed.

so, anyone know what the parts are in this picture? 92 300d 2.5. i got the klima relay, but i was wondering what the other stuff is.

and, anyone know where the auxiliary water pump is in my car?

how about the relay?

thanks

david

The buzzing noise is probably the air sampler motor for the climate control. Over the years they get noisy and sometimes squeal very annoyingly. You can take it apart and lubricate the motor, but obviously the long term solution is to replace it. On your car, the auxiliary water pump is located underneath the windshield washer bottle.

is this something that is on whether the air is on? i should look at that #7 fuse again and try to figure things out.

as far as figuring out if my auxiliary water pump works, it seems that it would be obvious. any suggestions before i get started are more than welcome.

and i would think our cars would warm up quicker. yes, we have more cooling power with all our veggie needing to warm up, but it does seem like i should warm up more quickly.

thanks for all the help

david
