I was driving by the MB dealership and decided to replace the OVP - last 4 digits 37 45. Cost me just under $110 with tax. There r 2 10Amp fuses in the new unit.

I think the car idles smoother, seems to run quieter, accels better. I also noticed the temp is up a couple degs to about 82, used to be 80.

Also, the RPM seems to have come down some - 2800 at 70 MPH - used to be just shy of 3000 at 70 MPH.

The numbers after are the days since the last maintenance...This lady was 80 yrs old and I called the MB shop in Orlando, Florida...they said she drove them crazy with this car....And you are right brave Richard...I replaced the OVP yesterday...My oil changes are considered by many wasteful..I change it every 1500 miles along with oil filter, fuel filters, OEM air filter with a Lubri-moly diesel purge and amsoil additive..but dont forget..this car is never driven around town...it goes only on interstate between New Smyrna Beach florida to Charlotte, NC twice each month for a total of 2000 miles per month...No expense is spared on this vehicle...and by the way...old granny just bought herself a new CDI..I called her and told her I would take it when she is finished with it...lets see..now what is the average lifespan of an 80+ yr old woman...guess i should get to know her kids too...I know the recorded maintenance will scare them away...woohoo!

I got all my service done last night...took her for a short spin to check for leaks...all is fine

Sounds like my E420, perhaps not as severe. I don't have that many records of repairs during the car's warranty period. However, I have everything after... and it looks just as scary but it does drive and look like new.
