240d (manual)transmission interchange
posted "over there" with no response, figured you guys would know.
i was looking at the pull a part locally and they have, i believe a w124/w201 manual car, almost surely gas powered. its not going to fit in the 240d is it? i ask because my parents asked me what i wanted from santa and i told them a 5cyl turbo manual car. to pull the parts ourselves is the only way to accomplish this what models ought i look out for swappable parts? i know on the 617 swap ill need the radiator and coolant bottle+ accessories. on the transmission, ill prolly need to drag the whole thing to the mechanics shop.

i suspect some
early 124 trannys are the same as some late 123 cars. others will be able to zero in . you prob will need chassis number to find out for sure.

check
with your favorite mb pars supplier for interchange. he will give you chassis numbers of cars that have trannys that interchange.
THEN go and check numbers at the pick and pull. tom w
