Mercedes-Benz Commercials

What's your favorite TV commercial for Mercedes-Benz?

Many people will probably say the recent commercial showing many different models that have served their owners faithfully through the years--the scientist in the G-wagen in Africa, the chauffeur and the big Benz limo, all culminating with the couple who own the 1,000,000+ mile 280sel in California.
The ad ends with words something like "Nothing makes a car more loyal to it's owner than a owner who is loyal to his car."--Something along those lines.....

However my fave is the ad from a few years ago where the young husband/wife buy a W123 and then begin a family. Over time, the family and car grow up with each other.
You then see the teenager son looking for a car to buy for himself whilst the dad is washing the 123 in the driveway and puts a FOR SALE sign on her windshield. After looking at his share of riced-out cars, the teenager comes home and removes the sign from the old 123's windshield and his dad smiles--meaning he has found his car. Nice ad. And one that applies to very few carmakers.........

I've never seen that one before. Anyone have a video of it?

Yeah, I'd like to see that too. Also, can someone post a link to the "Resurrection" or "Reincarnation" ad as well? You know...the one with the W115 in the crusher and the salvage yard worker getting all choked up. BTW, it chokes me up too.

The German Fascination ad is great. Glimpses of Juan Manuel Fangio and Stirling Moss...

Mercedes Benz - Passion

The Mercedes Benz 'Passion' commercial is the best of them all. It shows the evolution of Mercedes cars, while Marlene Dietrich sings 'Falling in Love Again' in the background.

The one I loved, we saw at the Mercedes Museum at the M class assembly plant in Alababma.

A Hells Angel guy riding his hog and his babe on the back are driving down the road and behind them is a bunch of cars, Mercedes, flashing their lights as they race up to them and stay in formation with them while drivng down the road. The Woman screams in fear "what do they want" and the guy looks at her and responds "Don't look at them and maybe the'll go away. Then the 5-7 cars drive off down the road.
A classic role reversal, it was great.

I did not necessarily like it, but the one that struck me as most odd was the one where the Benz is motoring down the street and all the store window mannequins turn their heads to "admire" the car. Seemed to me the message was "Mercedes, appeals to dummies."

Wasn't on very long, so maybe the powers realized the possible alternate message in their symbolism...

Is that the one where it shows the cars "memories" as it's being crushed? Maybe ten years ago? I saw such an ad about ten years ago and only saw it once ... but I've remembered it forever ... it absolutely crushed me (bad choice of words?). At the same time, it was very moving and beautiful.

I also love the "faithful" ad (the one with the g-wagen at the beginning and the million mile couple at the end) ... a very rare classy ad in an era of HORRIBLE automotive advertising from most manufacturers.

The reincarnation one is the one I was thinking of! I thought it was longer ago than that ... I guess not. That ad is just so, so sad. That car is my 240D exactly, I think, although I couldn't see well in the dinky screen on the Quicktime player. After watching that, I can guarentee you my total disaster of a car is never going in the crusher ... that'd be soul-wrenching.

This ad moves me so much that I actually can't describe it to people without choking up. I'm such a sap ...

Millon Mile One

I like the GWagen to Million Mile couple one a lot as well, but it's also sad to me. I think its unfortunate when a manufacturer has to use it's past to try and sell it's present.
