84 300TD- 78k orig. miles, $3000 obo???!!!!!
I found this listing in my Sunday classifieds this morning.....isn't that ridiculuously low for a 300TD with only 78k miles? It doesn't say anything about a rebuilt engine or anything.
If I had the money, I'd go check this out, it seems too good to be true. From what I've seen on ebay a benz diesel with that kind of mileage can go for up to ten to twelve grand, depending on condition. Anyone around Gainesville, FL might think about checking this out. Their # is 352-339-4757.

I saw a really nice 300D, an 83 thru 85 version at a shopping center a few years back. A deep blue one that was beautiful! I was looking at the instrument cluster and it read 30 something thousand. In a few minutes the owner came over, an old timer from Hillsborough. We talked a few minutes, he said he bought the car on the suggestion of his daughter, and he only drove it a few times a month, and it was actual mileage. I didn't bother asking if it was for sale. Then there's the hairdresser that drives an '85 300SD with 80K on her. An immaculate car, it still had the trap oxidizer in it a few months ago when the Indy and I suggested he carry it to a dealer and get the thing replaced under the factory campaign (before it might be discontinued ) Low mileage cars ARE around! Then theres the wrecked 300D that I saw in a yard, showing 76K on it. I am certain it was original mileage from looking at the trunk (the spare was never on the ground) and the condition of the car.
