Exclamation Looking for a "how to.." for replacing front brakes on 85 300D

that says it. anyone have a link for doing this ....? 1st time

You might want to check in the diesel forum.

If you have replaced pads on other cars before, it should appear to look fairly straightforward. If memory serves*, the procedure is nearly (if not completely) identical to the one used on the 124 chassis. (See DIY link @ top of page). However, when it comes to changing rotors, the story changes dramatically.

* it's been a couple of years since I've changed the pads on m 300D

Click the D.I.Y. button at the top of the page and locate the procedure for W124 brake pad replacement. It is basically the same on a 123 car. Take only 1 pad out at a time. It might be a good idea to pick up a Haynes 123 Series manual for guidance on these routine maintenance jobs.

I too was going to mention the Haynes manual for the car, I still have mine for the motor purpose as I have a 617 in my SD.
