I bet you would like to tell her where to put that trailer hitch. Sorry about your misfortune.

Well Paul, I think it is obvious. You need to get rid of it! Funny, I've always wanted one of those........

Sorry about the damage. Not a bad way to get a new grill.

Doesn't look too bad, unless there is radiator damage. You can get you a replacement grille from a W123 in a rear end wreck for less than a new one.

It's a bit more than just the grill. The aux fan is pushed into the condensor (does not appear to be leaking so far). The radiator is pushed back so the fan shroud is rubbing on the PS belt. The hood is tweaked off center a bit. Progressive screwed us last time. This time I am prepared to be a real a-hole if necessary. Will call them tomorrow and see what happens. Stay tuned.

Let me get this right: Either YOU rear-ended a wimman driver of an SUV with a trailer hitch and are hot under the collar that she was THERE to wreck your grill. Or YOUR WIFE or G/F was the "!@#!@#@ wommin driver" who caused the rear-end collision. Or YOU are the wimman in question.

So what's the story?

None of the above. Woman backed into it while it was parked in Autozones parking lot.

Palangi,

I have one that looks very very similar to yours...

Dang that really bites....for you, not for me....because if that hadn't happened to the one I have, well, I wouldn't have it!!

Tell Progressive that the car was great before their ignert driver backed into it and you will not settle for less than repairing it to original condition at a vendor of your choise using only OE parts.

They can fight you on it all they want, but before their insured drove into you, your car was "Perfect".

Yeppers. They could declare it's only worth $500 and is therefore totalled. If they try to pull something like that there's gonna be a fight.

I don't understant how it's legal to have a waist high hitch ball jutting a foot from the bumper in the same states that it's illegal to have a dime size rust hole in a body panel that's almost horizontal.

Did you see this happen or did she leave a note?

If I were you, I'd get that hood washed, polished to get a little old paint off, washed again, clayed, washed again, and place two coats of wax on it, they'll want to make it a $500 car even more with a bit of oxidation on it.

My son is going through the same thing. Only 2 days after the accident a mysterious witness comes forward and says my son was parked too close! Don't know what insurance company but may be the big P.

Keep fighting. They'll give in eventually but it will take a while. What really sucks is the longer they take the longer your car is tied up.

Cheers,
Bill
