I assume they didn't put a stick in a 126 because it was a high-end car and who would have spent that kind of money on a car with a manual transmission? These were marketed to doctors and lawyers. It was, and still is many times, considered distasteful to have a man. tranny in a sedan. MB owners used to complain YEARS ago because they couldn't get autos, now they want manual trannies, geesh, make up your mind already.

Thanks
David

You will never see a manual in any S class car except the lowest hotel limos. Ie 280SEL, S280 ect. The S class is a high end luxury car so no manual it is not within the cars character. If you want a manual buy a BMW, unfortunitly MB doesn't see fit to import any into this country.
