W123 vibration/idle problem
like most idle related problems posted here, my 82 300 TD idles rough when the car is on running temp. when its its cold it idles not nearly as rough, it had a lot of smoke too, so i decided to have all the injectors (nozzle tips) replaced, the valves were adjusted and all the fuel filters replaced but i still get the rough/vibration when its idling. although the smoke has been gratly reduced and the car runs great, i did notice that the blow by gasses in the breatherand dipstick is quite not normal, could this be a compression related problem?

Hmmm
Possible bad rack dampner pin is a guess, without seeing the car.

Don't overlook the effect that a bad motor mount will have on your perception of idle.

idle problem
I forgot to mention that i changed all the motor mounts as well, problem really starts to occur when the engine reaches normal operating temp.

How is your timing chain stretch?
Also, the rack dampner problem sounds possible. But look at the valves and the timing chain first. |
