Are 116's really that rare? Did you mean in 300SD form?

Around here ANY W116 is that rare...................I am not exagerating that I see maybe 2 a month, of any W116 chassis. And I work in DC and live in the Suburbs.....I don't spend my time in the Boondocks. And you know what I mean when you look for other cars like yours....and don't see them.

W116's are starting to get somewhat rare everywhere, since they have a rust problem

Mine came from Tempe AZ......has no rust and I refuse to drive it after the first snowfall until after the rains have washed all the salt dust from the roadways to keep it rust free.

I was being sarcastic, E320's are like Honda's around here. Their taking over!

I know of two W116's around here. A rusty white 300SD that has tin patches on the wheel wells. Also a decent looking 450SEL, I can't see any rust on that one walking by it. Thats about it, they are getting very hard to come by.

I see your point, within the last year I have seen relatively few in the LA area even where we have a zillion cars. Most are 450 gassers (one in excellent shape) but I have seen at least 3 300SD's driving around all in pretty rough exterior shape ....one of which was for sale, a Blue 300SD with 233k with a good body and no glaringly visible rust at 6am in the morning. I considered buying it although the tan interior looked as if African Bull Elephants commuted in it daily . And then of course two 6.9's, one cruising in the Silverlake area and another holding the street pavement down in Malibu

Don't know if anybody cares anymore, but have you noticed the $10,000 bid has dissappeared? I'm thinking either he got scared that his shill bid wasn't working (cause it wasn't, obviously nobody was bidding) or the bidder realised what stupid mistake he made.

The seller shall not be responsible for the correct description, authenticity, genuineness, or defects herein, and makes no warranty in connection therewith. No allowance or set aside will be made on account of any incorrectness, imperfection, defect or damage. Any descriptions or representations are for identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type.

Is it just me or does anyone else get the hint that whatever happens, he is not responsible for anything? IE, if you arrive there and he said the body is perfect but there is a huge rust hole, you are SOL? If he said the engine runs and when you win it and start it up, it won't work, you are SOL? Sounds like he won't even take responsibility for his own description, to me anyways.

I've noticed that the starting bid is now $6,500 and the $10,000 bid has been removed. No bids on it now.

He also added pictures of the seats with the covers removed (because of popular demand). Actually they look pretty nice.
