E-bay Is it real...or memorex?

I have pretty much given up the hunt for a 86/87 SDL for my lovely Bride.
I have now begun a search for an E-Class Diesel.

All opinons appreciated, and here's one I am pondering.

Is he real??? or Jus hot air?

Seller has great feedback, perfect 100%. He always has very nice cars.

He is also a poster on this Forum...

I think the car looks great, but I don't know anything about that year.

I am indeed real.

Despite any naysayings of Mr. Carlton, (though he doesn't know me, and has never purchased a car from me)

I am indeed real. My car is a nice car with 157k miles on it. It has never missed a service according to the service advisor @ riverside motors who sold it new.

I have owned well over five hundred Mercedes in my career. I sell over 100 per year, by myself.

I have sold nearly 250 vehicles on ebay, one at a time. I take my work very seriously.

You are welcome to call me and discuss it further.

He knows you better than you think, and, you are correct. He will never purchase a car from you.

I've seen many of Herbert Phillips's auction listings and they all look 100% legit and excellent. I particularly loved the auction he recently had for a clean 300SEL. Mr Brian Carlton, can you tell me what you see as being wrong with the car, or what you don't like? I just can't figure it out. That car looks perfect!! If you don't want to post it here you can either PM me or send me an e-mail . Thanks.

OK, what gives? I read the listing carefully and noticed nothing out of the ordinary or suspicious. The car looks great to me. What am I missing? Am I that bad at judging it? PM me if you don't want to post it. I don't get it

I, too, am interested in what the problem is with this seller or this car. I may be in the market for a replacement or added car in the very near future and had found the listings by this genteman to be of interest to me. If you do not wish to post, please email or PM me. I would not want to make a costly mistake.

I agree - If Brian has some sort of issue with the car or the seller he should identify what the issue(s) is/are. Please enlighten us.

I'm interested too....

I'd sure like to know what's wrong with the car that I am selling?

I think what is obvious to me at least is this-

Mr. Carlton has repeatedly illustrated his hatred towards auto dealers again and again here on the forum. His comments such as "it doesn't take a genius to push metal" , are frequent and common here. While I respect Mr. Carlton's right to hate dealers, this latest thread has gone a bit too far .He apparently is unhappy about a car that he bought on ebay from another seller. Since I am a dealer, I'm in the bunch. He hates me too. Apparently, given the opportunity, Mr. Carlton would thwart the potential sale of my vehicle as well.
I don't know what I did to Mr. Carlton to deserve the downright rude and evil treatment that I'm recieving here. I would be interested to know.

I'd like to have the PM published here in the forum and see what he has to say about my car.

If I am wrong, I will be the first one to apologize.

My business is rather simple. I buy old MB's and other vehicles that I think are good retail pieces , and I sell them without reserve on ebay. I spent most of my time hunting bargains, and I clean, service, and list them by myself.
I try to be nice to my customers, and 99.9% of the time, they in return are nice to me as well. I don't claim my cars are new.

I'm aligning my position with Timfreeh's. It's not fair to Mr. Phillips. In my opinion, any issues with this vehicle / him should be posted as he has requested. As a member of this forum, Mr. Phillips deserves an opportunity to defend any criticisms.

I hereby pronounce the case adjourned.

I see that people can critize and not trust certain individuals because of their field of work, WOULD ANY OF YOU TRUST A POLITICIAN??? for example?

Since I want to do what Herb Phillips is doing for a living I respect his side and as long as you keep your integrity I will respect you highly. The auction looks professional and I would trust to buy a car from you if the chance be.

Peter
