Oil Filters...Mann versus Hengst

I just happened to be gearing up for my next oil change and noticed that I had one Mann HU951 and one Hengst E172H filter. Both manufacturer's websites say that each one is a direct replacement for the other but I think I like the implied sealing ability of the Hengst a bit better since it has a gasket "built-in".

Thoughts and comments would be appreciated.

where to buy online hengst or mann filters??

Hello.

Saw this thread and I am having a hard time finding an online place to buy these filters (again the Hengst E172H, Mann H 951, Purolator L37616, or other good quality equivalents)

Can somebody confirm if these filters are for the 606.962 E300 TD engine??

Thx and happy year!!!

I doubt there is an oil filter question not answered on that thread.

DRJex, to find a filter for your car, click on "Fastlane" at the top of the screen. Oil filter questions are almost as explosive as oil type/interval quetions. Everyone here knows that MANN, Hengst and Knecht are the 3 OEM filters that come in MB boxes from the dealer. Stick with any of these three and cruise on.
