Dye recommendation for W124 grey leather
I've been working on the seats in my newly acquired 1995 E320 (124) wagon today.
I've given them a proper clean, leather care, etc. I want to get hold of a matching dye to fill in the cracks. If I'm not mistaken the colour is "Orion grey" Any recommendations? Here's how it looks currently: ![]() Thanks!

If the leather is painted instead of dyed it will be difficult if not impossible to condition/soften it later as the top surface gets sealed with paint. Discuss this with providers of products you are considering to purchase.
...Almost forgot...pictures will be required both before and after...just saying.

Leatherique makes excellent products. Their dyes are water based, but surface applied. They have an excellent product called rejuvenator oil which works great at reviving dried stiff leather.
As Sugar Bear points out, once you surface redye/paint your leather it will be very difficult to feed and keep soft. If you really prep well and recondition the leather beforehand; a redye could easily last you 10 years before stiffness and wear set in.

Thanks folks.
Just wanted to confirm that the colour of my interior is in fact Orion Grey. Here's the codes under the hood. I'm fairly sure it is but thought I should probably ask one of the folks here who knows for sure! ![]() I've been looking at the above sources and also here https://leatherworldtech.com/mercedes-leather-dye-color-chart/ Strangely, there seems to be two Orion Grey options on the above link (M140 and 7313), but my option code is 268 - which isn't on that site at all..! Thanks!

go with a supplier that uses MB color codes or at least has samples they can send to you for color matching. I also have 268 Orion Grey in my cabrio. On a few sites there are listed 2 types of Orion, a light Grey and a Blue-Grey. Not sure if MB had a change along the way using the Orion name or if some other manufacturer also uses Orion for a slightly different variation. (like Palomino used by MB and Ford but each is different)
The best is a color swatch and compare. My 94 cabrio is hard to pick, because there is such a variation between leather, hard vinyl, soft vinyl and hard plastic in terms of color matching, that it's all over the place from bluish grey to light grey. Point being, get something that closely matches and be happy with it. I just did my wagon interior and the same was true there. The variation of color shades between materials, sun exposure, fading, new MB-Tex vs orig, re-dyed, carpeting etc. is tremendous but also "looks right". If what you do is uniform across the spectrum, i.e. all seating the same color, all window trim, the same color, it will look uniform and correct even if the seats and trim are slightly different shades. Hope that helps a little
