The steering wheel on my 2012 E350 W212 has wood accent on the top and bottom part. While it may look nice, I think it's probably among the most stupid things to do to the steering wheel because the sun will reflect off the shiny surface right into your eyes.

What would be the best way to dull down the finish short off covering it up with a leather wrap?
