I stripped the valve cover on the TE, but then needed the car, so I never painted it. I'll do what you did soon.

I respectfully suggest you consider changing the brake fluid, and perhaps even the coolant.

Every fluid was changed, even tho they all looked perfect..

Here is the inside of the Transmission...

I also did the underside of the engine while I was under there...

I wanted to paint mine, but ran out of time and had to put them back on. There's nothing like the look of an engine in a twenty-something year old car that looks brand new.

Stripped and degreased it. Sanded out any rough patches, and hit it with 3 thick coat of H/T Engine paint, semi gloss.
Then I used a razor blade to shave the paint off the ribs and tip of Mercedes logo.
The I hit it with 2 H/T Clearcoats.

Wow, nice look! You have inspired me. I've got to get back to work on mine again.

Here is my try!

Accidentally sanded a little over at a few points, but overall came out 100x better than it looked before.

What about some black "crackle" paint? Old style Ferrari or Alfa engine covers

I will now the engine is all sealed up, and give the paint under there a coat of wax! !
This is how it looked before I did the hoses.... Look at the inside of the engine... hows that for a 20 year old car... but its only got 88k miles!

I am very impressed, I am just curious, does your valve cover gasket leaks oil, I had my gaskets changed 3 times and it still leaks oil
