Which code is my paint code? (tag pic attached)
I did a search but the post said the code will have a letter G with it like my 116 did, well, my SDL doesn't have a G. So, I took a picture of the tag on the radiator support and was hoping someone here could tell me what my paint code is by looking at the pic.
Thanks David

What color is the car? Sometimes you can figure out which # is the code by looking at a list of the codes and seeing if any appropriate ones match something on the tag (EG, 199 is black, that could be a paint code if your car is black ... 877 is a bluegreen color, etc)

It's probably 877, which is listed as Petrol Blue Green Metallic Clearcoat. But yeah your tag is a bit weird, usually the paint code is followed by an H or G.

I just looked at paintscratch.com and it is definitely not petrol blue green metallic clearcoat. The color is a dark grey with a hint of blue or green maybe? The Russian site says my paint code is 199, but that's pearl black and my car is not pearl black (I wish it was though). The Russian site says paint code 199, metallic blue-black. I guess that describes the color but paint scratch doesn't have anything shown that I could pin point to my color. Here is a picture of the paint on the car.
This is a picture I took to sent to someone showing the rust on the car but it is the only one I have that is close-up. Thanks David

Is it possible the car was ever re-painted? Or it could be that the pearl black color faded in a really odd way, although that doesn't seem too likely from OEM paints.

So I can go to a Dupont dealer and tell them 199 and they'll give me what I need?
Thanks David

It looks like its the 199 pearl black. If you want to touch up some parts.. go to the dealership. i paid $20 for a touch up kit and was lucky to have the paint in stock since its not a common color (clerk even said he hasn't seen that color before).

How could it be pearl black? Isn't the pearl black the dark glossy black?
Thanks David

Yours is definitely 199 pearl black. I've never understand why they called this pearl black in the first palce. It's not really black. More of a dark charcoal gray metallic, in my opinion.

My car is 877. Today we were talking about that at Gemutlichkeit when Andy was looking for his paint code and his said 877 as well, but his is clearly not that color. I'm still trying to figure out what that code is on the W126. The letter after the paint code is the manufacturer of the paint. Don't ask why they included that.
