1987 300TD Quit Running on Biodiesel

This is not my car. I saw this on Ebay and the owner said that the car stopped running using biodiesel. I wonder where he got the biodiesel from - some backyard brewer? Diagnosis for why it stopped running? Cheap fix?

Some simple fuel problems and they are calling it quits!? damn if they would only do that on a paid-off CDI That way i can pick one up cheap!

If this car was local id try to buy it but im not trying to deal with shipping

Doesn't seem like his hallmark year powerplant is all that bulletproof.

I've never seen delivery valve seals fail so badly that the engine won't start. I think more likely he ran unheated and uncut WVO which clogged the lines.

strictly home-made. separated vegetable oil. the stuff looked good for what it is worth.
I wonder what the cause was?

These guys that can't tell waste grease from true biodiesel are the sort that give the whole biofuel industry a bad reputation. Ugh.

Cheers, John

Still has the trap oxidizer. Could be intentional (waiting for it to kill the turbo to get a new one) but I am guessing his indy doesn't know much about the car...
