190e 2.6 Ignition Wire locations

I was recently in a little fender bender. My radiator assembly was pushed into the distributor cap, severing all the plug wires. While trying to figure out what went where the cap completely crumbled. I am now stuck without a good reference of what wire goes to which terminal on the cap. Does anyone have a good reference for the cylinder to cap wiring?

The terminals on Bosch distributor caps are numbered 1 thru 6. Match the terminal wire with the appropriate cylinder numbered 1 thru 6, front to back.

Sometimes the plastic cover does not have the terminal orders written on it. Or at least my 260E did not until I replaced the cover as it was broken anyway.

I don't have a picture right now...so somebody else will have to pitch in for the correct order.

The firing order is 1-5-3-6-2-4. Facing the distributor, going clockwise, No.1 is approximately at the 1:00 position, No. 4 is at the highest position (past 11:00 but not quite at 12:00). The best I do without a pic or diagram.

Memorize the firing order and remember that "1 is at 1".

Thanks for all the info. I am still waiting on the parts. Unfortunately my 190 didn't have the cover on the cap when i bought it, but with the info above i should have no problem getting everything back together.

Fingers crossed that it will fire right up, and the fender bender didn't cause any hidden problems!!

Poster said the numbers are on the distributor cap itself--he did not say they were on the "plastic cover."
