Rubbing noise when hitting dips

3 Attachment(s)
The past few weeks, I've noticed a rubbing noise in the front passenger-side of the car whenever I hit the bottom of a hill at normal speed. I assume it's the tire rubbing against the shock absorber (I haven't pulled the wheel yet to check).

The car also has been pulling to the right since I got it (even after an allignment).

So, I crawled under the 87 300e yesterday to examine the front suspension. I saw what appeared to be a hairline crack in one of the passenger-side control arm bushings, and saw that one of the driver-side bushings (right by the wheel but not sure what to call it) was totally shot.

Might these bushings be responsible for the mis-allignment? I plan on lifting the rear today to see the rear bushings as Bentley's states that worn rear suspension bushings causes "rear-end wander which requires minor steering correction while driving straight ahead."

Anybody get their allignment issues worked out by replacing their rear suspension bushings?

i've replaced the plastic dog bones in a 300e...and that all but eliminated the rear wander..

hard to believe that such an inexpensive part could cure that problem

Thanks Lee, but what are "dog bones"?

I'm looking to see what these parts are called so I can order some (after checking underneath the rear end today). Thanks again!
