Boom!?

OK... this is not car related but its a open forum so what the hey. I come home today, there's a small puddle of grease on the floor, looks like it ran off of the garage door opened (Genie Screw-Drive system). As i get out i notice the smell of WD-40 (I think my grandfather had a role in this). well.. I just stepped out earlier to find a small spray of the rail grease on my window and 2-3 drips on the window seal. Giving an inspection to that portion of the rail, i notice that the carriage is broken on one side. Meaning its being driven by one side of the lifter only. Can anyone please tell me whats going on with this thing? Any Genie garage door lifter experts here? Anything would be highly appreciated as I'm afraid to put my car in the garage from here on out until either a: it gets fixed, or b: it collapses on my grandpa's camry for whatever reason that he sprayed WD-40 on there for.
