Johnnie Cochran dead

I didn't know he was 67 years old. He died of a brain tumor.

Peace and glove to everyone.

I hate the whole concept of the OJ trial, but I don't blame Johnnie Cochran. People criticized him for "playing the race card." For the life of me, I have no idea what those people would have had him do. Ignore the obvious racial element of the case? He was defending a man against a murder charge. He had a duty to use every ethical means at his disposal to bring the jury to his side. As far as I know, that is what he did.

CNN replayed the part of his closing argument where he ridiculed the prosecution's preposterous claim that a stocking cap would prevent an eyewitness from being able to identify someone. He put on a stocking cap in the courtroom and said to the jury, "Do you recognize me?" He kept the hat on while he delivered the immortal, "If the glove doesn't fit, you must acquit." It was genius, to have this well dressed, stylish man wearing a ridiculous stocking cap, making utter fools of the prosecution. I don't know much else about him, but he had balls and was one heck of an advocate.

I thought it was interesting here, one of the News Teasers said

"OJs Lawyer Died"

And then flipped into a commericial

I wonder if he used the race card this time. "I'll bet the cancer picked on me because I was black."

OJ did it we know, but the guy (Johnnie) did his job. Let him rest in peace. If you still have issues about the case then take it out on that bunch of yahoos that called themselves the prosecution, that idiot racist cop and that incompetent CSI for sowing doubt  And lets not forget that freeloading prick Kato.
